Im very sad that I wont be able to watch you perform at the Highline… I will just be sitting outside…. So, if you could, at the end of the show, can you help a underage fan support one of my favorite bands, and bring me some of the things you guys brought for sale. It would be much appreciated. Mainly, I would love to purchase the new lp, and possibly a sweatshirt. Thanks for making great music!

Andrew, thank you for your comment, we would love to see you in Seattle! Would you like to come eat dinner with us before or after the show?

Hi guys Subrosa are advertised as playing in London on Wed 10 July at the Rhythm factory There’s another UK band with same name, alas I’m guessong its them playing & not you. Wanted to check cheers Melissa

We aren’t … when we first started in 2005, there were maybe 2 or 3 other bands in the world named Subrosa. Now there seem to be 15 or so, plus a bike company, and a feminist collective, and a few other companies. Can get confusing. 🙂

  4. Lauren 09/11/2013 · Reply

I would love to have a Subrosa patch. I hope you’ll consider having some made!

    • SubRosa 09/27/2013 · Reply

We used to have some, we should definitely make some more! Thanks for the suggestion.

Absolutely fantastic band. You just keep getting better with each new release, really can’t stop playing your songs =). A shame tho that I don’t live anywhere near where you do your shows.

Absolutely fantastic band. You just keep getting better with each new release (More Constant Then The Gods is brilliant), really can’t stop playing your songs =). A shame tho that I don’t live anywhere near where you do your shows. In any case just wanted to give a shout from a fan in a little island on the caribbean 😉

    • SubRosa 09/27/2013 · Reply

I’m really glad you’re liking the new album, thank you so much. Where in the Caribbean are you? I was in St. Lucia a couple years ago. 🙂

      • Evoken 09/29/2013

Im on the Dominican Republic, really hot little island 😉 Yet it is also known for it’s beautiful beaches…lots of tourism. Yes the new album is wonderful, I really can’t stop listening to it. Hopefully one of these days the band makes and releases a live DVD (wouldn’t that be amazing?), in the meantime I’ll have to do with YouTube videos of your performances :p

      • SubRosa 10/03/2013

Thanks, we are actually in the process of finishing a film documentary about the making of the album … it’s not a tour DVD, but at least a film of some sort, I guess. 🙂 We also want to make a music video in the next few months … probably over the winter when things are slow. I’ve seen many tourist hotspots in the Dominican Republic, it’s beautiful there.

      • Evoken 10/03/2013

A film documentary / behind the scene type of video would be quite nice I think, getting to know the band and the whole song writing process would be quite fun 🙂 And an official music video? Can’t wait! :p Yeah there are many beautiful places around here, it is good for tourists if you are coming say for a week or so but living and working here on a day to day basis let’s just say is not ideal 🙂

    dear rebecca, kim, dave& zach.
great thanks for your music, cause your last albun even more cool then coolest no help…
it’s really the great album, i think it’s the best on the whole world sludge/doom/stoner/post-metal scene this year.
there are no any bleak bad ingredients in your music last 4 years, and your violons & atmosphere are unique on our planet.
great respects from belarus /it’s here) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belarus /, welcome in our lands!
good health for you, much power for you, new music everests for your great band. )

Thank you for listening to and appreciating the new album. 🙂 I actually speak a little Russian, but according to Wikipedia, most of the population speaks Belarusian. Is it hard or easy for you to understand when people are speaking Russian; how close are the two languages? Anyway, we hope to make it over there one day. It would be great to play the Slavic countries!!

      • oleg 10/03/2013

sorry if i was wrong about your guys) but one sources give: dave& zach, another ones – christian & andy. /anyway even today subrosa is only female band for me) and it’s very cool and rare on the such male world metal scene /so it was not very good to hear the male vocal in “the usher”)) //
your russian was very unexpected & quite fine and sexy in “stonecarver” /it’s the beautiful cut really)/.

what source of your interest of russian?
do you like any russian or belarussian writer? /especially anton chekhov in russian literature and vasil bykov in belarissian/

Is it hard or easy for you to understand when people are speaking Russian; how close are the two languages? -great thanks for your curiosity)
you know it’s world problem of big/small nations: englishmen don’t understand irish or scottish but both small nations understand english.
        so we are.)
our languages are related, quite close and have much common history.
by the way last year belarussian was named… the most beautiful in whole europe after italian!)
you can hear some belarussian ones)-
it’s famous ska-rock band “lyapis trubetskoy”, the song named “grai” or “play”

it’s “troitsa” – folk-rock band, trio of tens & tens folk instruments

it’s small interesting project “re123+” – very cool rare folk-dooooom with such folk instrument as accordion

here your own topic on the big ukranian/russian music forum
        http://www.neformat.com.ua/forum/distorted-unit/27572-subrosa-3.ht
        ml
yeah, it’s the pirate forum, so there are many people load your records from such servers but not sell your legal ones(
and here the some page of your great album in the lagest rus-speaking facebook-analog – vkontakte network
        http://vk.com/e_doom?fixed=1
all rus-speaking web-sources are full of enthusiastic comments about “more constant…”)

so i’m sad i can’t help you to organize your eastern europe tour, it’s great loss for us; however we’ll glad to welcome your in belarus, ukrain & russia in future.)

      • SubRosa 12/23/2013

That forum looks really cool … who knows, maybe we will make it to Eastern Europe next year? That would be cool! I got interested in Russian from reading Crime & Punishment when I was 17 and decided to study it in college. I lost almost all of my Russian, though, because I don’t practice it at all. It’s really too bad. I read Anton Chekhov in school but not Vasil Bykov; I like Chekhov.

Anyway, it is actually Sarah speaking in “Stonecarver.” She speaks Russian VERY well because she dated a Russian guy for five years. 🙂

Hi Sofie, we are coming to Europe in June to play Hellfest, and are planning a tour around it, maybe you can see us then! We don’t have dates but will post it here and on FB when we do. Profound Lore has European distribution, but I’m not sure how extensive it is … you can buy our CDs from us, though, at http://www.subrosathings.bigcartel.com. We ship to Europe.

    Hello Subrosa,

Just a few words to say that your work is just amazing.

I discovered the band maybe a one and a half year ago with the incredible “No Help For The Mighty Ones”.
I was already impressed and immediatly loves what I was listening.

But i wasn’t prepared for what I’ve feel when I’ve listened for the first time “More Constant Than The Gods”
I think for an hour, I was in another dimension, in a contemplation of infinity.

Sometimes we are wordless for describe some feelings.
    Then just one more word…..

    MERCI

    Marc from France

Merci to you. Thank you for listening. I endlessly crave music that can give me that feeling … and I’m very glad MCTTG did that for you.

Hello Subrosa! What an awesome band. I came down from the wilds of Wyoming to see your show with Deafheaven. It was fantastic. I happened to be in Salt Lake again a month later (near St. Pat’s Day) and ran into Sarah down at the Gateway (I was sporting my awesome Subrosa hoddie! See, great things happen when you wear your Subrosa duds!) I think it is great how this band is making waves on the national scene. Well deserved. Keep making converts.

Garren, that is so cool you ran into Sarah at Gateway, ha … and that you traveled so far to come see us play with Deafheaven! Thank you for coming down. I guess we are not playing Wyoming during our tour in July/Aug … 😦 but we will have to get there some day soon.

    Greetings,

I’ve just see that you are coming for your European Tour at the Garage in Saarbrücken this next thursday with KYLESA and LAZERWULF, I think this is the best birthday gift I will have this year.

    See you soon !

Thank you so much SubRosa for the awesome show you’ve done at the Saarbrücken Garage last night, way too short but it was beautiful and really intense. Anyway, great performance. I hope you have fun too, despite it was a little room (this isn’t good english but you’ll understand what I mean).

Thanks a lot to Rebecca and Kim for the little talk at the “Store”, it was so unexpected but very pleasant. And also thanks a lot to Sarah who was running everywhere to find Andy and Levi for the signature (and for the hoodie).

I will remember this evening for long time and hope you’re gonna continue to make such so good music

All the best and thank you (one last time). to find Andy and Levi for the signature (and for the hoodie)

    • SubRosa 07/24/2014 · Reply

It is no problem, sometimes it is hard to get everyone after a show for signatures because they all scatter … thus me and Sarah running around like crazy. 🙂 We had an awesome time in Saarbrucken, you were really nice. Hopefully we can come back soon!

    Hello there, SubRosa collective!

I just discovered you today and decided to buy the CD after listening to it on youtube. Too bad that you just played in Saarbrücken! It’s as far as I’m able to travel by now since my university will hold exams in July. So I hope you will be back to germany in a bit (Maybe on your second tour for MCTTG .. Maybe? 🙂 ) in a time I have no exams.

Have a good time here in the good ol’ Europe! I’m sure having one listening to your music. Keep on rocking 🙂

Hey Jan, thanks for your comment, we are probably coming back in the spring and hopefully closer to where you live. We will post about it when it’s official. 🙂

It’s spring now … I’m eagerly waiting for the announcement of your next tour through Europe! 🙂

        Keep on rocking!

Hey, it’s a bit late but I really enjoyed you at Hellfest. You went from a complete unknown to me then when I was having a listen to some of the band’s going to perform at Hellfest I came across The Usher and you became one of my favourites…

Maybe some UK dates at some stage?

  17. Bob 10/10/2014 · Reply

Love your music. Your Spotify profile is mixed up with some other band and it’s under the name “sub rosa” not “Subrosa”(and that listing has yet another band). I recommend getting your profile verified so they can clean that up and that will lead to the band be added to more related artists links. It’s also cool to see the number of plays each track has total. If you can put up your other albums, that would be cool too. I want everyone to know about your greatness.
